| Saved By A Phone Call
Yet another boring holiday started with waking up at 12 pm going for
lunch, watch a little Commonwealth Games on TV and then retired back to
my room to DotA with my friends back in Malaysia. As I was playing, I
lost track of time and at 5.51p.m., as I was about to start my next
game, the phone rang. I stoned for a few seconds, then picked up the
phone, wondering who would call me at this time.
"Hello?"
"Hi, Is this Heng Boon?"
"Uh, yeah."
"Just to remind you that you have a Physiology for Pharmacy tutorial at 5.30p.m."
(Message
translated to electrical impulses, sent to brain, processing info,
recalling earlier notice regarding tutes, impulses sent to muscles at
eyes, turning them to the clock below the taskbar on the laptop,
registers 5.51pm, formulates response)
"Erm...alright I'll be right there. Thanks."
As
I hung up the phone. I started gathering my stuff quickly. Sheet, how
could I have forgotten the tute? Just a side note, freshers at IH
(where I'm staying at - International House) need to attend tutes
assigned to them and if they miss more than 2 tutes, the House is gonna
chase after them. So anyway, apologized to the tutor, and everything
was fine. Before starting, she asked a few questions and it led to "Did
[lecturer at Monash] cover this with you?". Since I had skipped a few
classes because I was too lazy to get out of bed, I told her that I had
missed some of the lectures. She then said something like this, "You
know, physiology has the highest failure rate (~40%) even though it's
just facts because some of the people presume that it's so easy due to
the fact that they have biology background in high school and they take
it for granted, but when exams come they can't answer the questions.
Don't think you can cruise through this subject. Go for lectures and
take it as a revision to you." That got me thinking a while and I guess
it is true that I take certain subjects for granted, i.e. Pharmacy
Practice because it's all boring facts about organizations, history,
etc. Plus, her care and concern touched me a little and come to think
of it, I might be looking forward to the next tutorial. Guess this
might be interesting...
Anyway, I might get a camera when the
Games are over and the prices drop down to more affordable ones. Then I
could take pictures of my 2 new 'animals'. Never mind if I'm talking in
puzzles, it's just the element of mystery and suspense. I might
elaborate more for those who have the initiative to ask...
Guess
it's back to work, even though its 4.40am here...sometimes I wonder why
I actually stay awake to do homework (not assignments, homework which
they do not grade you for it).
Signing off with my often-used phrase, "Sigh..."

Sigh…
I’ve been easily frustrated these few days. I don’t really
know the reason why, but it just happens. One good instance is that when my parents
/ my bro sounds me on MSN, I immediately get irritated. It’s not that I hate
them or something, just that after one message, 10 seconds later if I don’t
reply, the wav file of Captain Planet can be heard. And I turn on hostile mode.
As I’m typing this, I’m still frustrated over a trivial matter. Blogging at
this state of mind isn’t advisable, but at least it chills me down.
So, to fill up what’s been missing for the past 1.5 months,
uni life has begun and I’ve adapted to my new hostel as well. Procrastination
has started even on the third day of uni, but most of the lectures are already
what I know (or what I used to know). Lab sessions are getting interesting,
with the fact that we actually dissected a huge rat for physiology to observe
its abdominal organs, gastrointestinal tract and reproductive organs. Albeit
the smell, it was quite cool. Currently enjoying a 2 week break due to the Melb
Commonwealth Games, and since my Uni is near one of the sites they actually
have to halt lectures. Nice…
My mind’s really blank now due to much frustration swirling
in my mind, so I’m just gonna go get some sleep or something, and hope tomorrow
will be a better day. Pictures of Melb won’t be up until I get a digicam. If
you ever chat with me on MSN and I sound really cranky, please understand, but
this does not mean that you’re forbidden to talk; you might just cheer me up a
little, if not it could go either way…

| Here I am at Starbucks and finally managed to get on the
wireless connection after many frustrating attempts. I had to walk all the way
up here because I couldn't do anything when I was with my parents, and upon reaching
Starbucks I had to wait about 20 minutes before I got connected successfully.
Furthermore, my flight was delayed for 4 hours. It’s not just my flight, the
monitors displaying the departure flights were spammed with red blinking words ‘Delayed’.
Nice la…
Anyway, I was surfing blogs to overcome my boredomness since
I couldn't DotA or WoW on the wireless, and I came across Voon Wei’s who tagged
me. Since I had the time, might as well cook something up…
The rules:
The unfortunately tagged have to write an entry of between 100-200 words, with
these words included once, and only once:
1. I
2. me
3. blowjob
4. grapes
5. random
6. power
7. loneliness
8. water
9. robot
10. blue
It was 10 o’clock at night when the X-Airbus 3000 was flying
across the ocean. Dude, an 18-year-old boy was flipping the channels at random when suddenly a blue movie caught his attention. As he
watched, he was aroused sexually until he couldn't take it anymore. He pressed
the ‘Call Flight Attendant’ button and waited gleefully.
“Hello sir, how may I
help you?” Dude was taken aback at what he heard and turned around. Instead of
a beautiful flight attendant, a robot
was before him. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, it was programmed to
fulfill every passenger’s needs. “Is it possible for me to get a blowjob from
one of the female flight attendants? Dude is feeling something that’s about to
be unleashed! Rawrrrr!”
“Invalid request, unable to comply. Would you like some grapes and water instead, sir?” Dude felt so pissed that he looked for the power switch at the back and switched it
off. Served that thing right, he thought to himself. Guess he had to suffer
from loneliness until the plane
landed.
(Approx 171 words, 3% random error ^_^)
Sry Voon Wei if it wasn't lame enough, but I think my
lameness has died away since the holidays. Might take a while to resurrect it
from the dead… Oh right... I wanna tag...SEK TENG!!! Wheeeeeeeeee......

| Bleh, it's been almost two months since I last blogged, so I might as well post something in case some people start spreading rumors that I'm dead or something. Well, partly true, since this site is almost dead due to over excess of DOTA and the current WoW taking up most of my time. What to do, it's one way of having fun and getting to bond with friends at the same time, excluding the long term health hazards that may plague me and my fellow friends. I admit it's been a while since I actually came on and read my other friends' blogs, and my a while equals to about 2 months...
Anyway, for those of you who never see me or communicate with me, and vice versa, I'm going to Aussie for studies soon, and this will probably be my last update before I head off to Australia on the 25th. This means, for the benefit of those who are still blur, that I am not going to celebrate CNY with my family. I guess I'll be saving my aunts and uncles and grandparents and those who are eligible to hand out AngPaus some cash. If they would be so kind they would give before I leave, or I could just go to them next year and say "Hey, remember me? That's right, you didn't give me my AngPau last year. So can I have double this year? Thanks la! Gong Xi Fa Cai!" That is, if I get to come back and stay until next year's CNY.
As most, if not each person who goes overseas for further studies, they are constantly bombarded with the same questions, though not identical, but in essence they mean the same thing. So, here we go as I try to churn out and answer these million dollar questions that I'm constantly being bombarded with:
When are you flying off? As I mentioned earlier, 25th January
Wah, that means before Chinese New Year la? Duh... (The person asking the questions begins ranting about missing out on AngPaus and such...)
Which uni are you going to? What are you studying? Monash, Parkville Campus, 45 minutes from Melbourne Airport. Currently enrolled on the Bachelor of Pharmacy
So, are you excited to go to Australia? Truth to be told, no. I'm more of a stoner.
Have you finished packing your stuff? Well, currently, the things that I packed are insignificant. Yes, it's 3 more days only, I'll go pack soon *Either YangWei, LeeKuan, WengSheng, or William sounds me for DotA* Oo...DotA time, guess I'll pack later...
Watcha bringing? Well, lets see...clothes, laptop, stationary, maybe my guitar (if there's space). Instant noodles like Maggi Mee is most likely not in my list. Would explore the supermarkets and hopefully find something similar.
I went for the pre-departure on the 15th, and I found out that among those who are going to Parkville (or who turned up for the pre-departure and was going to Parkville), I was the only male. You may think, yes la, HengBoon so lucky, but about half of them consisted of Malays with their tudungs, and probably a little higher ratio of Chinese : Indian girls. Aiyer, go uni shoud concentrate on studies right? Right...
This trip to a foreign land to me is just another phase of life, nothing special at the moment, and nothing that I currently look forward to. I am now getting thoughts of how hard uni life will be, since I observed some of my other friends who are already in uni and who achieve better results than me in MC / HELP starting to struggle. I guess I'm just not ready to be hardworking again, and although I am getting bored of doing nothing at home for 8 months, I doubt I am willing to go back to studying once again, and later on, the work life. Guess I'll just have to brace myself for this 'adventure'.
Hopefully I'll be more reflective when I'm in Australia, and more entries will follow suit.
